Donite Plastics designs and manufactures custom made plastic parts mainly by thermoforming and CNC trimming.

Location: Saintfield, Northern Ireland

Donite Plastics designs and manufactures custom-made plastic parts – mainly by thermoforming and CNC trimming. As a result of moving to new premises and purchasing several large new machines, they have experienced exponential growth and need an experienced and highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and plan for introduction of new customer products and improvements to existing client product
  • Support engineering and production teams on manufacturing queries
  • Maintain and document design process in line with company standards
  • Give input into the development of new procedures to cope with the rapidly increasing customer demand
  • Introduction of new processes and technology
  • Creation of technical drawings
  • Creation of BOMS and work instructions to ensure work is carried out in a timely fashion
  • Liaise with customers re specification et al
  • Maintain part revisions

Essential Criteria:

  • Hold a degree (or near equivalent) in a relevant subject
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience with CAD (preferably Solid Works)
  • Flexible to work outside core business hours as business demands
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate technical, IT and numerical skills
  • Organisation and efficiency, a must

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in tool design and assembly
  • Experience liaising with customers
  • Experience in CAM programming (Hypermill or other)
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles
