There is a saying that \u2018you learn every\nday if you are listening\u2019. Well, I\u2019m going to add to it and say \u201cYou are going\nto learn every day if you are looking and listening!\u201d And this was very true of\nmy recent visit to Agritechnica 2019 in Hanover towards the end of last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was the show of all shows; it was\nthe world\u2019s leading trade fair for agricultural machinery with 2,750 exhibitors\nfrom over 51 countries all under one roof and thousands of pieces of\nagri-machinery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So along with my new colleague, Mark\nCarmody, a mechanical design engineer, who has just joined the Donite team, we\nset off to view, collate, analyse and check the make-up of the various\nmachinery, as well as to listen to those who were trying their very best to\nsell their product. We were there to soak up, not just the atmosphere, but as\nmuch information as possible and to look, listen and learn. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What was interesting about the show is\nwhere technology, artificial intelligence and science will have an important\npart to play in this sector going forward. It can improve the efficiency of\noperations, save labour through automation of menial and repetitive tasks and\nreduce costs if applied correctly. Technology can help capture more data of\nhigh quality, report back in real time and allow you to interrogate that data\nto help with decision making before implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agritechnica 2019 was a showcase of the\ncutting edge in technology in agriculture and for Donite Plastics was a must-attend\nevent. It was great to meet up with so many of our customers and chat about\nbusiness, technology and products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also noted that as manufacturers,\nmany are great at making their own products, but very few have much knowledge\nof the many plastic processes that are available, in particular, the vacuum\nforming process and how it can add real value to their end product. So that was\na great talking point, when we had the opportunity of course as we wanted to\nlisten too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you Agritechnica\n2019, we certainly saw some amazing machinery and products, we heard how the\nindustry is changing and we certainly learnt a lot more about the agri-tech\nsector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As they say \u201cLearn to\nlisten. Opportunity sometimes knocks very softly\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
